“Go on a nature scavenger hunt. Use this tally chart to record how many of each nature item you observe. What item did you find the most of? ”
Take your child on a nature walk. Bring along the tally scavenger printable and record what you see along the way. Make a tally of each item seen along the way and record the total amount.
Process
Help your child pack their scavenger hunt backpack; tally printable, pencil, magnifying glass, binoculars if they have them, water, snack
Go for a nature walk.
Fill out the tally chart along the way. Have your child make a prediction about what nature item will be the most common.
Enjoy your outside time as long as everyone is having fun, engaged and happy. Have a snack and speak about what you have found.
Come back and add up your totals!
Materials
Tally chart printable
Pencil, clipboard or something hard to write on.
Nature walk accessories; magnifying glass, binoculars, water, snack, bug spray, hat
Positive attitude and a curious mind!
